In October of 2010, Willie, Candace & William Fleming became a family that was separated by incarceration. Since that time, they have committed and believe it is their purpose to serve other families out of the grace that allows them to stay connected as they defy odds that are set against them.

Willie, who is an inmate in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, daily lives with a focused determination beyond the walls. He is a published author, writing mentor, teacher and devoted husband and father.

Candace is an educator by profession and has a passion for working to impact the lives of youth and families.

William is a 10 year old who is wise beyond his years. He loves music, writing, video games and traveling.

Together the Fleming Family has launched C.W. Fleming Books, Families of Conviction and Civility Institute- all while navigating the journey of incarceration.
