Our Story
Love For A Lifetime
In October of 2010, Willie, Candace & William Fleming became a family that was separated by incarceration. Since that time, they have committed and believe it is their purpose to serve other families out of the grace that allows them to stay connected as they defy odds that are set against them.
Willie, who is an inmate in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, daily lives with a focused determination beyond the walls. He is a published author, writing mentor, certified life coach, teacher and devoted husband and father.
Candace is an educator by profession and has a passion for working to impact the lives of youth and families.
William is wise beyond his years. He loves music, writing, video games, traveling and is also a DJ aka DJ Flow.
Together the Fleming Family has launched C.W. Fleming Books, Families of Conviction and Civility Institute- all while navigating the journey of incarceration.
Willie and Candace Fleming are evidence that strong families can overcome the barriers of prison bars through commitment, and consistent communication. I have had a front row seat to their love for one another and their son. Our community is blessed to have Families of Conviction as a resource for building strong family units during incarceration.
